My dad has heart surgery Friday morning. Please pray for steady hands for his surgeons, and peace for my mom.
Knit shows your church who needs help, and helps your people give it.
Knit multiplies the moments your people carry each other, without your staff becoming the bottleneck. They share needs, offers and prayer requests, help each other, and tell the whole church what God is doing. Your Team can see every post and response.

Someone needs help moving Saturday.Someone has a pickup truck.
Why I built Knit
The first church shared what they had, “as any had need,” until no one among them went without. Acts 2:45, 4:34
Our people are more in need than we know, but most keep it to themselves, because asking out loud is hard.
And the people eager to help are more willing than we’ve ever made room for.
At Reach, my church, we tried to make room. We ran a public page called have a need, meet a need. Asks and responses came in constantly… but every one waited on a single volunteer.
We couldn’t keep up. Our team became the bottleneck for the care we wanted most.
So I built Knit.
Every need, offer, prayer request and story goes in front of your whole church. No one has to know the right person. Knit makes a one-to-one introduction, then gets out of the way.
There’s nothing to download: Knit opens in any browser, and a weekly email shows your people what’s new.
Picture a widow who can’t get to the store anymore. Five minutes away, a young woman has a car, a free Saturday and a hunger for a spiritual mother.
They just don’t know it.
A crowd sits side by side. A body carries its own.
Your people are longing to be a body. Let them.

How Knit works
Three rows back, someone needs a ride to chemo.
Two seats over, someone has a free Thursday. They haven’t met yet. And most of it never reaches you.
Someone asks. Someone nearby answers.
On Knit, your people ask for help, ask for prayer, or offer what they have. Someone nearby is ready to help, to pray, or to take the offer.

RespondNeedKnit makes the introduction.
The helper sends one note, with the phone number or email they choose to share. Your Team can see every response. Then the two of them take it from there: personally and offline.

Anyone can tell what God is doing, big or small. When a need is met, Knit asks for that story too. Every story makes it a little more normal to need each other.

What’s in Knit
Needs

Meals for a few nights after surgery
Knee surgery Tuesday. Nothing fancy, just two or three dinners while I’m off my feet.
Ask for help. Offer what you have.
Post a need for yourself, with your name or without it. Or post for someone else with their okay, using your own name. Offer what you can give. A neighbor taps Respond and sends one note, with the phone number or email they choose to share.
Prayer

My dad has heart surgery Friday morning. Please pray for steady hands for his surgeons, and peace for my mom.
Share a request. People in your church pray.
Others pray with a tap, or send a few words or a voice prayer back. Only the person who asked, and your Team, can read them.
Stories

Our whole family was baptized
A year ago we didn’t know anyone here. On Sunday, forty people stayed to cheer us on.

Tell what God is doing.
Share any story, big or small: a baptism, a first visit, a small group that showed up. When a need is met, Knit asks for that story too. The Stories board keeps them all for the whole church.

Find your people.
Each person says how they like to help and what they want people to know: their skills, their gifts, what they love doing. Everyone is listed unless they choose not to be. The map shows an approximate area, never an exact address.
Asking for help takes trust.
Here’s how Knit maintains trust and keeps your members safe.
Only invited or approved people get in.
People join through a personal invite, a link from your Team, or a request your Team approves. There’s no public sign-up.

Join requestAn automated scan checks every post and response before anyone sees it.
It looks for scams, solicitation, harassment and threats, and holds anything it flags for your Team to decide. It never deletes a post on its own. When someone’s words sound like a crisis, Knit shows help first.

Safety check flagged itRequests for money wait for review.
Every request regarding money or bills from a member waits for your Team’s review before your church sees it. An automated safety scan holds posts that try to get around this.

NeedMoney & billsWaiting for reviewOne note per helper, and only the asker reads it.
A helper sends one note, with the phone number or email they choose to share. Only the person who asked, and your Team, can read it. Others see how many responded, not who, so there’s nothing to perform. Then the conversation moves to a call, a text and an in-person connection.

Anyone can post without their name.
Your Team can still reveal it when needed. Your church can also let people give in secret. A helper responds through your Team, and your Team passes the gift along.
Asked 1d agoPlease pray for my marriage. It’s been a hard year.
PrayPrayerYou can review new members’ first posts.

Three steps to start
Tell us about your church
Fill in a short form. Stephen writes back to find a time to talk.
Set it up together
An hour with us. Pick your launch moment, like during a series on Acts 2 and 4.
Launch with your leaders first
Leaders go first. Everyone who joins posts one Need, prayer or Offer. Offers are the easy start. Then turn on new-member review and share your Request to join address.
The questions any good pastor asks
Is this more work for my Team?
Your people can help each other without every need coming through your staff. There’s no chat for your Team to moderate. Your Team approves join requests and reviews posts held by a safety check or your church’s settings. A member’s Money & bills need always waits for review. You can also review first posts from people who join after you turn on new-member review, or every post on a board. We set it up with you; your Team can see every response and step in when needed.
We already have a church app or Facebook group. Why add Knit?
In a group chat or Facebook group, a need sits between birthday wishes and sermon links, and only that group sees it. Every post in Knit is a need, an offer, a prayer request or a story, and your whole church sees it. A helper sends one note, then the conversation moves into real life. Your church app can keep carrying sermons and announcements; Knit helps the people who need each other find each other, with your Team able to see every post and response.
Is this one more app my people won’t open?
People have a reason to open it: someone needs a ride, asks for prayer or has something to give. There’s nothing to download; Knit opens in any phone’s browser. Alerts bring them back to what matters, with as much detail as your church chooses. An optional weekly email shows what’s new. There are no streaks, badges or algorithm. The aim is a meal dropped off or a prayer prayed back, then the phone put away.
Is it one more login? Does it work with Planning Center?
People can sign in with Planning Center, Google or Apple, or a code sent by text or email. There’s no new password to remember, and your Team still decides who gets in. Knit doesn’t sync with Planning Center yet; after the pilot, it plans to send back membership facts and counts only.
What if someone abuses it?
You decide who gets in, and your Team has a way to act when trust is broken. Members can report a post, response or profile. Safety checks can hold posts and introduction notes with suspected scams, solicitation or unsafe payment instructions for review. Your Team can hold every post from one person, can see every response and can reveal an anonymous name when care or safety calls for it. No money moves through Knit, and your safeguarding policies still apply.
Could our church be liable for what members arrange?
Think of Knit as your church lobby. You decide who comes in, but when two people meet there and agree to help each other, the arrangement is theirs. Knit’s Terms, which every member accepts before joining, say the same thing. Neither Knit nor your church is a party to what members arrange between themselves. If your Team agrees to pass a gift along for someone, that handoff is your church’s, and it happens outside the app. No money moves through Knit, and your own safeguarding policies still apply.
Our small groups already care for each other. Why Knit?
Keep rallying as a group first. Knit is for the needs that go beyond what one group can carry, or where no one in the group is the right fit. It also gives every group a way to serve the wider church.
How would we get people to use it?
Start with your leaders. Ask each person who joins in launch week to share one small Need, prayer request or Offer; an Offer is an easy first step. A home group can pick a few Needs and make a service night of it. Then invite the wider church the way you already share news. We set it up with you. The Stories give the next person the courage to ask, because they can see their people showing up for each other.
What if someone shares a Need and nobody answers?
Knit can’t promise every Need will be met. Your Team can see the Need and its responses, so they can check in, help the person find someone or meet it themselves. They check for unanswered Needs manually; Knit doesn’t yet send an alert when one goes unanswered. You keep pastoral oversight without coordinating every introduction.
Where does our church’s information live, and who can see it?
Your church has its own private space. Joining one church gives no access to another’s member posts, responses or profiles; there’s no public board or member directory. People can ask without their name, and other members never see an exact address. Your Team can see every response and reveal an anonymous name when care or safety calls for it. Knit uses personal data to run Knit, support your church, protect members, send requested alerts and comply with the law. It doesn’t sell it, use it for advertising or train unrelated AI on it.
What about requests for money?
A member’s Money & bills need always waits for your Team’s review, then goes up for your church like any other need. No money changes hands on Knit. Giving happens outside the app, in person or through your church’s benevolence process. Add a short message and link to that process, and Knit shows it when someone picks Money & bills.
What does it cost?
It’s free while we pilot together, and you can leave anytime. Paid plans come later, and we’ll share the price before you decide whether to continue.
Isn’t this too niche for our people?
Every church has needs it never hears about. Many are ordinary: a prayer on a hard Tuesday, six hands on moving day, finding the family you met in the lobby. Knit gives those needs a place to be heard, and the people willing to help a way to answer. It’s also for the member who would rather write a prayer than pray out loud. Start with a group you trust and let the stories show your church what is possible.
Is Knit for emergencies?
No. Knit isn’t an emergency service, and a post doesn’t promise an immediate response. When someone’s words sound like a crisis, Knit shows help first: your church’s own crisis help, or 988 and 911 if your church hasn’t written any.
Do people need to download an app?
No. People can open Knit in their phone’s web browser. On an iPhone they can add it to the Home Screen from Safari, and Android phones offer to install it, so it opens like an app without a store download.
Won’t it fill up with old posts?
Needs come down after 30 days and Offers after 60; your church can choose its own windows. The person who posted gets a reminder near the end and can extend it once. Your people see what is still needed, rather than an archive they have to sort through.
